    For Sale

I have some Altec items for sale.

    1. Four 811B horns
    2. Four 288C drivers without diaphragms
    3. Two 515B woofers
    4. Two 416-8A woofers

All are in real good shape. I would like to sell the whole lot for $1500.00. The price is negotiable. If you are interested please e-mail me at [email protected]. I can reply with a link to view pictures. Thanks.

    Tom

    Location?

................. and instead of in the open forums, you should really post this here: The Altec User's Board Classifieds - Hostboard Classifieds & Auctions

He's way silly on the pricing.

600 a pair for 288C with no fram?

Is it becasue they're C's? I thought Alnico 288's usually hit $1000+ for a working pair?

Tom did say the price is open for discussion in the first post in this thread.

You are thinking of G and H

RWB might go over a grand but not C's.

I have recently seen pairs for 600 ish and even less.

Pair of 291...basically same driver, different fram...for 700 with horns in classifieds here.

    Multicells aren't Altec though.

Silly may have been a bad choice of word, but it's certainly top dollar

OP never did move it to classifieds...does he read here?

I see....... I've never paid close enough attention to the large format drivers to know the fine points that bring top dollar.

Maybe not....... I had just glanced at the poster and thought it was Tom that posts here, but now that I go back and look, the username isn't the same, and the post count is only 6.

    Re: For Sale

You guys really oughta look at the link I posted for ya. It's the one with the actual sale. Here it is again. Might help to clarify. I think the package deal is quite reasonable.

Definitely agree. Although shipping fees are starting to cut into the game a bit nowadays.

But, i'm thinking a guy with the time and willingness could keep the 515's and a pair of 288's, and flip the rest to end up with an A5 load for no out of pocket money when all said and done. Notice i didn't say "free" because there is significant time, effort, and hassle involved.
